From your first appointment to your aftercare, you could not wish for a more dedicated, professional, positive, safe or compassionate provider. Monica has brought mother and baby/family centered care to a whole new level. How do you put into words the feeling you have for a team of women that changed your life? These women would do anything for anyone. Their hearts are SO BIG and FULL of love for all. The entire team embraces the miracle of new life and its uniqueness to each family. They allowed my pregnancy and birth story to be my own, guiding me each step of the way. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better team and care than I experienced with gently borne midwifery. The moment we met I knew I had found what i needed to confidently and comfortably say yes to a home birth. From pregnancy through postpartum, I received a quality of care way beyond what I expected, or even imagined was possible. 

Each visit was spacious and full of connection. I never felt rushed and I always felt like my baby and I, even my husband, were the only people who mattered in that moment. My questions, concerns and emotions were always welcomed, even outside of our scheduled visits, and they were answered in a grounded, nurturing and informative manner that always brought me back to feeling centered and at ease. This allowed for a rather relaxed pregnancy and birth process. 

Although no further confirmation was needed that I found my dream team, the actual birth proved that I did. Emiline was the midwife on call when I went into labor. Her, Issa the doula and Haley the birth assistant showed up in such an amazing way that I am forever grateful for. Each woman brought their own special presence, skill and light to the birth. They were all hands on and hands off in the most perfect and balanced way. I felt a very sacred and in tune connection with these women during labor and was as comfortable as I could possibly be during an experience that is unavoidably uncomfortable. 

Once the baby was born the women stayed for several hours to support my baby’s transition into the world as well as our transition as parents and caring for a baby for the first time. Once again I was blown away and filled with gratitude as the women cared for me, my baby, my husband and even our home. You would never know a home birth had happened as before they left everything was cleaned up and laundered. 

The entire team at gently born is more than qualified and capable of caring for you, your baby, your pregnancy and birth. They are simply perfect. I loved their combination of providing all of the necessary medical essentials for both mama and baby while creating a beautiful natural birth experience. They have extensive experience and skills to ensure you and your baby are safe, which was always number one priority for me. I am forever grateful.

Amazing women that work here they help you feel empowered, safe, respected, and loved. When your baby arrives you feel like you've been with family. I trust them completely and have used Gently Borne Midwifery for two of my three births. I only wish I could've used them for my first birth but we weren't living in the area.

I am utterly floored at the sense of respect my partner and I got while she labored.

As a man who has been exposed to home birth in the past, I was not a stranger to the idea when my partner mentioned it was the way she'd like to bring our baby into the world. The thing I did question however was, who is this woman? Can I trust her? Can I rely on her through one of the toughest days of our lives? Meeting Monica and building a relationship with her through our prenatal care helped me to see just how knowledgeable and trustworthy she truly is. She included daddy (me) in every conversation and consideration, I didn’t feel left out of the loop once. Speaking to my experience *in labor* and attending our very cozy home birth- I am utterly floored at the sense of respect my partner and I got while she labored. Monica keeps her distance if the labor permits it and coaches only when needed. Her words seemed to fit right into the seams of silence perfectly between contractions to help my partner feel confident enough to keep it up. I was allowed to be hands on with my partner and fully participate and be integrated into the entire labor process all the way through delivery. We both had hands on the baby at the same time. Monica and her team are a true testament to professionalism, personal connection and loving care. I would 100% do it all over again with her.

We were super hesitant until our first meeting…

We are so thankful we chose to have a Home Birth. My husband was super hesitant when I mentioned the possibility and I wasn’t 100% about the idea until our first meeting with Monica. We both left feeling so confident and excited. Her experience and knowledge was so evident we knew it’s what we wanted. She was wonderful at including our three older children in every appointment and was flexible at fitting our wants and needs into our birth plan. We really couldn’t have asked it to have gone any better. Thank you Monica for forever being a beautiful part of our family’s story.

Monica is just so amazing!

I came from a place of fear and anxiety after my son's birth didn't go quite like I hoped. Monica took the time to just listen. I looked forward to my appointments with her and each time we met, it felt like a weight was lifted. My son, Liam, asks me all the time when we can go see Monica (his sister is 15 months now)! She is just so amazing with children of all ages and worried parents. My birth with my daughter was 2 weeks earlier than expected and we had a backup midwife but I was still able to feel the support and love from Monica and her team as we welcomed our little girl!

My love for Monica and her entire team is more than I can put into words. It's special and rare to find a person/group of people who make you feel so supported, loved, and comfortable at such a vulnerable time in your life. They are everything you'd want in a midwifery practice.

I would trust them with literally anything birth and health related

My experience with Monica started when I (in a panic) searched high and low for a midwife who would do a vbac homebirth. Monica was the only one! And I'm so glad I found her and her awesome team. I would trust them with literally anything birth and health related...they are so knowledgeable and completely 100% know what they're doing. I had a cervical lip issue preventing the baby from coming down the birthing canal, and they knew exactly what to do. I'm sure a traditional doctor may have thought I was not progressing and that may have started that cascade of interventions that I would not have wanted. I love that they give you freedom to birth as you wish, unless the babies life is at risk. This birth was an absolutely amazing experience! It was my first natural birth but Monica and her team put me at ease and walked me thru everything. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again as my midwives. They also turned my nervous husband into a "home-birth believer"! He said he would never, ever do a hospital birth after experiencing the birth we did. It was so, so beautiful!
